I have at least 2 Windows XP SP3 computers that were running Firefox merely fine until last month (I assume that is when Mozilla stopped supporting XP). I have read Mozilla'southward forums that land I can only run their ESR version on XP machines now. I really call back (but now cannot verify since I can't invoke FF anymore) that I was running the ESR version before it stopped. I downloaded the ESR version 52.three.0 from Mozilla's website to a thumb drive (today I downloaded ESR version 52.4.0 but take not tried it yet). I uninstalled the current version of FF then saved the install file to the computer and ran it. The install appeared to complete successfully but I still cannot invoke FF on the calculator. Is at that place some other cleanup or method that I need to employ to update or install FF so that it will run on my XP machines?
When I attempt to invoke FF I receive:
Mozilla Crash Reporter - Nosotros're Sorry
Firefox had a problem and crashed. Nosotros'll endeavour to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.
I have tried to retry and always get the same crash so ordinarily just closed out the popup crash reporter window. I take likewise taken the fourth dimension to explicate what happened when the crash occurred in the field supplied by the reporter.
BTW, I am having the same problem with Mozilla Thunderbird on these same computers!
Cheers for whatever and all help.

Firefox 52 ESR is the terminal supported version for XP so 52.iv.0 should work. Does firefox still crash when opening in safe mode? Hold the shift key and double click the firefox icon.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I have not installed FF 52.4.0 however, I think that I currently take 52.3.0 on the XP calculator. I just tried property the Shift central while double clicking the FF brusque cut also as when clicking the icon in my organisation tray and both ways I all the same become the Mozilla Crash Reporter popup.
Should I uninstall FF once more and attempt to install the newer 52.4.0 version? When I installed the 52.iii.0 version I besides ran the CCleaner cleanup tool on my Registry to clean any balance. Is there whatever other cleanup tool or method I should use later on uninstalling FF before I install the newer version?
Thanks very much.

I would uninstall Firefox later on backing upwards your bookmarks which can be found in the contour binder. Later uninstalling firefox I would as well delete the mozilla folder in the subconscious Appdata directory. You will need to bear witness system folders nether File Options in XP.

Equally a temp mensurate you could install the portable version of ESR. Double click the exe and install to a folder on your desktop. See if firefox crashes.

You can download it directly, I guess. (mine got an auto update to v.52ESR)
Just but aware: it caused quite a mess on my system: CPU usage skyrocketed so bad even when idle (with one of svchost.exe processes involved), freezing all power direction options- couldn't ship it into standby mode and hibernation. The plug icon wasn't even displayed on the taskbar!- and causing a lot of poor performance and trouble even to MBAM and Hitman.Pro.
Subsequently iii months of useless recoveries (which seemed to work at starting time), I finally got to know where shadow copies folder is located... and taking a closer look I got it. The recovery appointment I was using contained the famous Firefox ESR update! Unfortunately it was also the concluding known appointment my PC worked normally.
I had to uninstall, reinstall from my archived v.43 installer, have it to v.48, disable the car update option and cross my fingers while rebooting. Trouble solved, CPU usage came back to its usual 1%. I had to reinstall MBAM and Hitman, both kicked out as I idea one of them was the culprit! (I am even so on Firefox 48,no problem at all)
